Aspen Fundamentals | San Juan Mountains, CO
Driving on an isolated dirt road in the Telluride area, I stopped my car and peered down the steep embankment. The aspens below were at peak color, though I couldn't see if there was a clean composition. I would have to go down the embankment for a better view. It wasn't a cliff, but it was uncomfortably steep. I slowly made my way down, holding on to anything I could grab. From part way up the embankment, I could look directly across into the aspens. At the edge of the aspens, several branches had leaves, which were framed by dozens of uniform trunks in the background.
